Smithfield Foods is an American food company with a leading position in packaged meats and fresh pork products. They are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Clerk to assist the payroll department with various clerical duties and support the team in processing in-house payroll.

Responsibilities

Open and process mail – once mail is opened each piece of mail is scanned into an internal ticketing system for processing by a team member
Process Interrogatories - Answer, scan and mail all interrogatories that come in via mail, fax or email
Process and mail out reissued A/P garnishment checks
Process and mail reprinted W2’s
Process internal overnight and regular mail of off cycle checks
Process and mail deposit backup and checks received for miscellaneous paybacks and garnishment fees

Required

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required
Basic computer skills to include Microsoft Office Suite
Strong written and oral communication skills
Excellent Customer Service skills
Strong time management and organizational skills
Ability to meet deadlines to keep the Company in legal compliance
Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment
Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment
