Clinical Lab Scientist II / Microbiology / Part-time / Days

They are seeking a Clinical Lab Scientist II to perform complex laboratory procedures, communicate information with medical staff, and provide technical expertise in the microbiology discipline.

Responsibilities
Perform a range of standard and/or technically demanding procedures in one or more of the Clinical Laboratory disciplines exercising initiative and independent judgment
Communicate technical or general information to their manager, director, & medical staff
Provide instruction in the basic theory, technical skills and applications of laboratory test procedures
Provide expertise and serve as a technical resource for Technicians
Work up all bacteriology cultures, PCR and STAT testing (Gram stain, positive bloods, Urinalysis, etc.) and perform Quality control with proper documentation
Function as a licensed staff member performing duties approved by California Business and Professions Code, CLIA and other regulatory agencies
Qualification
Required
2 to 5 years of relevant clinical experience with at least 1 year in the area of specialty required
ASCP Board of Registry certification as Medical Technologist, or other specialty preferred
Bachelor's degree meeting California Department of Public Health (CDPH) Laboratory Field Services academic requirements
Active California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) License required
Acceptable Limited California License in a specialty area in: Clinical Microbiologist Scientist License
