The Lead Material Handler will assist the warehouse supervisor in daily operations, manage workflow, and train new associates while ensuring efficient distribution processes.

Responsibilities
Maintains associate training records/files and confidentiality of such
Assists with implementation/maintenance of associate incentive programs
Acts as back up coordinator in the absence of a warehouse supervisor. Schedules work details, and assign labor as needed
Assists supervisors with daily warehouse functions
Responsible for troubleshooting and facilitating orders and receipts through distribution center
Interact with Inventory Control Department on inventory procedures and problems
Research orders that checkers cannot confirm
Work with Warehouse Management on proper Associate Prelude Training and documentation of this training
Interacts with all warehouses and Benco departments as needed to resolve issues and maintain consistent operations
Acts as the 'go to' person for questions
Responsible for the creation of, and maintenance of reports, used by Warehouse management team
Maintains confidentiality of all associate issues and files
Moves associates as needed to accommodate the workflow and ensure maximum order fulfillment
Reports any associate issues (production, behavior, tardiness, etc.) directly to warehouse supervisors
Assists with the implementation and follow-up of any BCI process improvements
Acts as a mentor to new associate
Maintains a positive attitude and work ethic, acting as an example for other associates
Assists warehouse management in achieving all warehouse goals, by proactively offering ideas and suggestions for improvements
Runs errands as needed, to purchase warehouse supplies, associates incentives, etc
Manages the checking area late in the day (fields questions, retrieves cage items), to ensure that all orders are shipped same day
Qualification
Required
HS Diploma/GED required
Able to move/lift 50 lbs. unassisted
Able to withstand temperatures in a typical warehouse environment
Position spends 100% amount of time standing, walking, lifting, pulling and pushing
Position may require climbing of ladders for top-level selection
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
Ability to communicate effectively
Excellent organizational skills
Basic computer knowledge (Word, Excel)
