Senior Production Editor
Scholastic is a leading publisher dedicated to fostering literacy and learning for children. The Senior Production Editor will manage high-profile titles through the production process, oversee freelance vendors, and ensure quality control while meeting strict deadlines.

Responsibilities
Oversee 1 Direct Report (Production Editor, Trade Fiction)
Traffics ½ of Trade HC titles through the production process (:8-10 per season)
Traffics high profile titles with extreme schedules through the production process (1 every 2-3 years)
Manage the pool of freelance vendors that the production group hires from (:75 people)
Oversee the production of the sales materials and report on status
Work with other group mangers on team initiatives (FireBrand, etc.)
Qualification
Required
People Management
Ability to evaluate processes in place and how they may be improved
Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality and juggling multiple projects
Excellent copyediting and proofreading skills knowledge of industry standards including Chicago Manual of Style
Excellent communication skills across many departments and stakeholders
