Assistant Inspector General for Management and Administration

Responsibilities
Set overall priorities and policy for Office of Management and Administration activities and oversee the planning and execution of these activities to ensure goals and objectives are achieved in an effective and timely manner and that customer expectations are met
Lead and coordinate the OIG annual and 5-year strategic planning processes that serve as the foundation for the OIG's program of audits, investigations, inspections, evaluations, and other reviews
Maintain, support, and enhance the OIG corporate management system, the Master Case Index, and other software applications including Team Mate and Share Point that are used to perform and track all phases of OIG audit, investigation, and inspection operations as well as management support functions
Direct and oversee the electronic distribution of between 200-300 OIG reports annually to VA senior program officials, congressional committee staff, Veteran Service Organizations, and other stakeholders

Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. National
Applicants must demonstrate that they meet the Basic Requirements, Executive Core Qualifications (ECQs), and Technical Qualifications (TQs) in their resumes
As a basic requirement for entry into the SES, applicants must provide evidence in their resume of progressively responsible executive level leadership and supervisory experience that is indicative of senior executive level management capability
Experience of this nature will have been gained at or above the GS-14 or 15 grade levels in the federal service or its equivalent in the private sector
Your resume should demonstrate accomplishments that would satisfy the technical qualifications
Extensive management experience in planning, leading, and directing a broad range of operational programs and functions
Demonstrated ability to analyze and coordinate program efforts with other internal and external offices and represent the organization to key individuals and groups outside the immediate work unit
Demonstrated knowledge of the American system of government, commitment to uphold the Constitution and the rule of law, and commitment to serve the American people
Demonstrated ability to strategically and efficiently manage resources, budget effectively, cut wasteful spending, and pursue efficiency through process and technological upgrades
Demonstrated knowledge, ability and technical competence to effectively and reliably produce work that is of exceptional quality
Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a group toward meeting the organization's vision, mission, and goals, and to drive a high-performance, high-accountability culture
Demonstrated ability to achieve both individual and organizational results, and to align results to stated goals from superiors
All selected applicants must undergo and successfully complete a background investigation as a condition of placement in this position
Selected applicant must be subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment
Persons newly selected for career appointment to the SES must have their executive core qualifications approved by the Office of Personnel Management Qualifications Review Board and will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period
