Responsibilities

Lead the architectural design and development of complex software systems for large-scale cloud-based applications within the power and electrical industry

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver innovative software solutions that integrate DER, microgrids, and BESS

Provide technical leadership and guidance to the development team, ensuring best practices and high standards in software architecture

Design and implement scalable, reliable, and secure solutions to meet the evolving requirements of the energy industry

Conduct technology evaluations and make strategic decisions on software architecture and tools to ensure scalability and performance

Work closely with stakeholders to understand business challenges and translate them into technical requirements and solutions

Stay abreast of emerging trends in cloud development and energy technologies to drive innovation and continuous improvement

Required

Due to compliance with US export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a US Person which is defined as a US citizen, US permanent resident, or have protected status In the US under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization

15 or more years of experience as a Software Architect with a strong background in large-scale cloud development

10 or more years' experience in the Power and Electrical domain, with hands on development experience on EPMS system

Hands on experience with microgrid concepts, including islanding operation, grid-connected operation, energy management, control strategies, and power flow management within a microgrid system. Familiarity of microgrid control systems and automation technologies, such as supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems, energy management

In depth understanding of power electronics and their application in renewable energy systems and microgrids, including inverters, converters, and other power electronic devices to interface and control DER's. Prior experience with protection & control design concepts, including one-lines, three-lines, schematics, wiring, etc

Proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud

Strong understanding of software development methodologies, including Agile and DevOps

Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
