Responsibilities
Provide business-focused, creative solutions to complicated legal problems
Draft, review and negotiate contracts for all areas of the business, including partnerships, licensing, technology, food related matters, hardware and software, engineering, supply chain and marketing
Support general corporate, M&A, financing transactions, and corporate governance matters
Research, understand and explain regulatory issues relating to advertising, food and others
Review and advise on compliance of marketing assets and product designs
Develop and provide training sessions for business teams
Collaborate with business colleagues, compliance team and other lawyers and legal staff
Qualification
Required
3-6 years of experience in sophisticated commercial/transactional matters. Experience in a wide variety of areas will be considered – corporate transactions, product/technology, and/or marketing
Experience at top law firm
Undergraduate Degree and Juris Doctor from top schools
You're comfortable owning projects from start to finish with minimal oversight and capable of manage multiple, competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
You embrace projects large and small – yes, even those boilerplate contracts must (unfortunately) be reviewed
You have a passion for learning and the law and you're not afraid to step outside of your comfort zone- you will learn new things in this role and need to be comfortable tackling new concepts
You're willing to admit when you don't know the answer, and then work extra hard to figure it out
You're able to function in chaos, make decisions quickly, and be confident in your own judgment
You're a great communicator who can translate complicated legal concepts into plain English for non-lawyers
You take your job seriously, but you have a great sense of humor and you value being part of a close-knit team
Preferred
Experience with high-growth startups or technology company, or with food, hospitality or ecommerce
Familiarity with corporate processes like equity programs, fundraising & diligence
