Responsibilities

Apply broad knowledge of principles and practices in Mechanical Engineering
Analyze and interpret data, formulate, and solve problems
Assist with proposal development for professional services
Provide direction on assigned tasks to engineers, technicians, and administrative staff
Plan and coordinate detailed aspects of engineering work
Attend meetings and present specific components of assignments
Work within AutoCAD to successfully complete projects within established budgets and deadlines
Perform field investigations/ site visits as needed
Independently evaluate, select and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making minor adoptions and modifications to create schematic
Assignments have clear and specified objectives and require the investigation of a limited number of variables
Consults with team concerning unusual problems and development
Prepare project plans and specifications
Make engineering computations with accuracy of design, specifications, and drawings, etc
Establish project design concepts, design criteria and scope, space requirements, etc

Required

4-6+ years in mechanical engineering design experience is required
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required
Required to be technical in the mechanical engineering field
Ability to use advanced techniques and modification and extension of theories, precepts, and practices in developing designs
Ability to perform QA/QC on drawings from drafters, designers, and/or design engineers on projects
Ability to assist in the education and development of design staff and act as a resource for design questions
Working knowledge of Industry Standard (ISA) P & ID development and evaluation
Advanced skills in Revit and proficient in CAD
Demonstrate advanced investigative, analytical, and research skills
Demonstrate advanced technical and nontechnical writing, editing and proofreading skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to prioritize tasks and overall workload
Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions

Preferred

Prior experience creating/designing internal piping processes and/or working on commercial and/or industrial structures is a plus
Valid driver's license preferred
