The intern will work on projects related to network diagnostics and automation, contributing to the underlying fabrics of high-performance computing.

Responsibilities

Take on one of several potential projects related to network diagnostics, automation, routine testing, or benchmarking and tuning of either ethernet or InfiniBand fabrics

Perform any other duties or tasks as assigned or required

Qualification

Computer networking fundamentalsLinux command lineProgramming in PythonHPCCluster computingGit/GitHubCommunication skillsCollaborative skills

Required

Must be a student enrolled in an accredited graduate degree program

Basic understanding of computer networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, DNS, DHCP)

Basic knowledge of the Linux command line

Familiarity with programming in Python, Julia, or Rust

Basic knowledge of Git/GitHub desired

Must enjoy working in a research-driven environment

Desire to document code and process, deliberative decision-making

Strong oral and written communication

Excellent collaborative and interpersonal skills

Cover letter indicating your interest in the position

Preferred

Students enrolled in physics, mathematics, computer science, or related disciplines preferred

Some experience in HPC and cluster computing topics such as MPI, Slurm is preferred
