AmTrust Financial Services, Inc. is looking for an Underwriting Assistant to join their Core Renewal Team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for brokers and agents, starting the underwriting process for the MidAmerica region and handling various underwriting tasks.

Responsibilities

Underwrite small renewals within an assigned Letter of Authority
Works closely with underwriters in handling policy requests and renewals
Follow underwriting guidelines, state regulation, and general procedures while handling assigned renewal policies
Maintains ownership of tasks assigned and provide acceptable service standards when processing and assigning tasks
Provide agency support to assigned agents by answering general questions, providing endorsement status, cancellation status, billing inquires, etc. or directs to correct contact

Required

2 plus years of knowledge and skills needed to underwrite Workers' Compensation, Property, General liability, Auto, and Umbrella lines of business
Proven team player and energetic personality
Effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet productivity deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Strong organizational skills, detail oriented with a desire to learn
Ability to provide information in a clear, concise manner with an appropriate level of detail, empathy, and professionalism
Ability to build and maintain effective relationships
Effective analytical skills to gather information, analyze facts, and draw conclusions
