Senior Manufacturing Engineer, Turbomachinery
Relativity Space is building rockets to serve today’s needs and tomorrow’s breakthroughs. The Senior Manufacturing Engineer for Turbomachinery will have end-to-end ownership of hardware manufacturing for Terran R turbopumps, focusing on creating manufacturing instructions, resolving hardware issues, and collaborating across teams to ensure high-volume production.

Responsibilities
Have end-to-end hardware manufacturing ownership of Terran R turbopumps in a fast-paced, and sometimes ambiguous development environment
Create constantly improving manufacturing work instructions and lead manufacturing and production strategy for hardware
Investigate and resolve hardware non-conformances and drive implementation of corrective actions
Design tooling and fixtures for assembly and test
Collaborate with design engineers, test engineers, technicians, and internal machine shop for hardware development, manufacturing, test, and scalability for high volume production
Work closely with supply chain team to procure turbomachinery hardware and bring down program costs
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in technical discipline and a minimum of 5+ years' experience building, manufacturing, testing, or troubleshooting turbomachinery hardware in a manufacturing environment
Project Management: Experience owning complex technical projects collaborating with design engineering, manufacturing, and production personnel with limited management input
Manufacturing Process Experience: Turbomachinery balance, Machining, Additive, Assembly Integration
Ability to effectively investigate and resolve hardware non-conformances and drive implementation of corrective actions with extreme independence
Ability to work with and train technicians in a hands-on hardware environment, writing work instructions, and process plans for complex assemblies
Proficiency with tooling design using with Siemens NX or other CAD tools, including conceptualization, modeling and drafting, and detailed analysis
Preferred
Experience transitioning products from development to high volume production
Experience in start-up environment
Experience with Vendor / Supplier Management
Experience writing formal process specifications and manufacturing standards
