Senior Accountant - Cost Accounting and FP&A

Responsibilities
Maintain and analyze cost records for materials, services, and operations
Prepare and review cost reports, variance analysis, and inventory valuations
Manage month-end and year-end close processes related to cost accounting
Manage computation and processing annual billing rates and expenditure recoveries
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate cost allocation and reporting
Assist in the preparation of management reports and dashboards
Review historical spend detail, identify patterns to help inform budget / forecast amounts
Support loading and maintaining financial data into financial reporting systems
Assist with the identification and explanation of variances; this includes working to determine the root cause
Perform ad hoc financial analysis and reporting requests
Perform account reconciliations
Maintain detailed records of reconciliations and adjustments for audit and compliance purposes
Conduct routine internal audits of departmental procedures
Assist in the development and maintenance of departmental procedures and work instructions
Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost efficiencies
Respond to planned or unforeseen emerging issues / circumstances
Participate in training opportunities
Serve on various committees (i.e. picnic, SEFA, etc.)
Assist with special projects / initiatives as deemed necessary by supervisor
