Senior Structural Engineer - Buildings

Colliers Engineering & Design is an affiliate of MG2, currently seeking a Senior Buildings Structural Engineer to join their Structural Engineering team in Portland, OR. Responsibilities

Perform engineering calculations with the aid of computer software, spreadsheets, and hand calculations
Create structural design plans and details in AutoCAD and Revit
Coach and Mentor more junior staff
Perform site visits, make observations of ongoing construction progress, and survey the structural components of existing buildings
Coordinate with architects, owners, and other engineering disciplines
Review shop drawings and respond to RFI’s
Perform QA/QC related tasks

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering from an ABET accredited University
P.E. required
10+ years of professional structural engineering experience required
AutoCAD proficiency required
Proficient in Revit required
Possess an intermediate to advanced understanding of structural design software such RISA, RAM, TEKLA, TEDDS, SAFE, PROFIS, etc. with a willingness to learn and adapt to new software
A willingness to learn and adapt to new software and client needs
Understanding of steel, concrete, masonry, and wood design principles
Knowledge of current building and material design codes and standards such as IBC, ASCE7, AISC360, ACI318, ACI 530 or NDS
Strong Microsoft Office skills
Able to work independently and also collaboratively on a team
Strong communication skills
Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions
