Responsibilities
Leads and mentors strategic sourcing analyst(s), providing guidance and support to drive excellence in contract negotiation, vendor selection, and sourcing strategy development
Directly manages complex contract negotiations with vendors to secure favorable terms and pricing agreements, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives
Revises and composes contract language in conjunction with Belk’s internal support partners (Legal, Risk, Finance, Audit, etc.) team to create a best-fit document for the business awarded
Oversees sourcing activities involving but not limited to, developing RFI/RFPs, developing strategy and approach to score, management of sourcing process, contract negotiation, and successful vendor relationship management and communications
Conducts comprehensive market research and analysis to identify new vendor opportunities and emerging industry trends
Collaborates closely with internal stakeholders to understand their business needs and requirements and develop sourcing solutions to meet their objectives
Represents the organization as prime internal and external contact on sourcing events and contracts
Meets regularly with executives internally and externally
Ensures that all sourcing activities follow standard policy, procedures, and methodology, while adhering to compliance standards and meeting project timescales
Provides knowledge sharing of sourcing and procurement activities, vendor management process requirements, relevant vendor data, governance strategies, and compliance
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or other related degree
Minimum of 6 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, with a strong emphasis on contract negotiation
Demonstrated knowledge and experience leading teams in a high-volume, multi-tasking, fast-paced environment
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Exceptional negotiation skills with a track record of successfully negotiating complex contracts and securing favorable terms and pricing agreements
Extensive knowledge of strategic sourcing best practices and competitive bidding processes
Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team to achieve results
Ability to build long-term, strategic relationships with business partners and leadership
Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to develop and execute sourcing strategies to drive business value
Ability to communicate with senior levels across Strategic Sourcing, Corporate Finance, Treasury, Audit, and Legal on contractual issues and vendor risks
Self-directed, requiring limited guidance and/or structure
