The Counselor Assistant role is responsible for facilitating clinical support services, including treatment planning and therapy sessions, to help clients achieve long-term recovery.

Responsibilities

Initiate and develop resident treatment planning goals through contact with clients, family, colleagues, and other staff

Evaluate and address behavioral and emotional needs of clients

Complete level of care assessments in a timely manner with the client

Refer clients to the next appropriate aftercare upon completion of treatment

Perform individual and process group therapy sessions, including preparing materials for sessions

Communicate with referral sources and company representatives

Participate in community meetings with clients

Complete family sessions as necessary

Receive phone calls from support staff as necessary regarding client behavioral and emotional needs

Maintain a safe, orderly, and therapeutic physical environment for clients, including crisis intervention

Other duties as assigned

Required

A Master's Degree from an accredited college with a major in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing (with a clinical specialty in the human services field) or other related field
