Sr Principal Engineering Planning Analyst – Airworthiness
Northrop Grumman is a leading aerospace and defense technology company, and they are seeking a Sr Principal Engineering Planning Analyst – Airworthiness to join their team. The role involves ensuring compliance with airworthiness requirements for sUAS, managing internal registries, and collaborating with various teams to enhance airworthiness competency and training efforts.

Responsibilities
Enterprise resource for sUAS inquiries and support
Collaborate with the Risk Management team to ensure sUAS are identified, accounted for, and properly insured
Partner with the Global Supply Chain (GSC) team and other stakeholders to ensure proper sUAS acquisition
Continually define and quantify the company’s sUAS footprint. Identify other parts of the company that are currently or plan to operate sUAS in the future
Identify risks due to sUAS activities; recommend mitigation steps to leadership
Ensure company-wide awareness of emerging and new Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) or other government regulations for sUAS (e.g., FAA Part 108). Develop internal policies, documentation, and communications as required
Assist with airworthiness competency and credentialing efforts for the enterprise, to include tool development and credential management
Extend airworthiness competency and credentialing can extend to sUAS training and qualification
Review, maintain, and update sUAS related company policies, safety checklists, and training
Develop training materials and provide training/workshops; Identify and assign to applicable stakeholders
Develop training as required for airworthiness competency and credentialing efforts, potentially extending to sUAS training and qualification
Collaborate with the Communications team to execute a company-wide sUAS education and awareness campaign. Maintain regular communication with the company’s sUAS community and stakeholders to communicate a variety of sUAS topics
Establish and lead a company-wide sUAS Community of Practice
Audit sUAS activities company-wide utilizing resources and subject matter experts from across the company as necessary to ensure sUAS operations comply with applicable FAA, company, and customer requirements
Define sUAS role within the company’s Safety Management System
Interface with FAA and other regulators as required. Monitor FAA regulation changes and determine impact to the company
Strategize possible FAA exemptions that favorably impact operations
Develop company position with respect to operating foreign manufactured and/or foreign assembled sUAS
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree with 8 years of project management experience with a background in small UAS flight operations OR a Master's Degree with 6 years of project management experience with a background in small UAS flight operations
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance. This clearance must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance
Preferred
FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate
Knowledge and understanding of the FAA's sUAS regulations
Ability to collaborate and coordinate with many stakeholders in a variety of roles (e.g., Legal, GSC, Environmental Health & Safety, Security, etc.)
Experience with record keeping software such as Confluence, Sharepoint, Access, etc
