Scientist, Peptide Purification

They are seeking a Scientist or Senior Scientist in Peptide Purification to purify and analyze synthetic peptides, collaborate with various teams, and drive innovation in purification techniques.

Information Technology

Responsibilities

Purify and analyze synthetic peptides and proteins (1-15 kDa, with a variety of chemical modifications such as fatty acid chains, biotinylation, fluorophores, disulfides, small molecule conjugates etc.) using RP-HPLC and LCMS instrumentation
Collaborate closely with the synthesis team to diagnose complicated crude mixtures, identify synthetic byproducts, and develop strategies to isolate difficult impurities
Troubleshoot and optimize challenging purifications, including sequences with poor solubility, aggregation tendencies, or unusual chromatographic behavior
Optimize and accelerate chromatographic methods for purifying a wide range of polyamides with differing properties
Drive innovation in purification automation, including improved fraction handling, screening workflows, and data management
Contribute to ongoing innovation within the company through the introduction of new chromatography trends, technologies, and resin/column chemistries
Meticulously record, analyze, and organize data for use in presentations to the purification team and leadership teams

Required

Degree in chemistry, chemical biology, biochemistry, or related field
Scientist: PhD in Chemistry or Masters with 2+ years of purification experience
Sr. Scientist: PhD with 4+ years of purification experience
Experience with solid-phase peptide synthesis and modification
Experience purifying peptides or other biopolymers
Experience with HPLC, FPLC and LC-MS instrumentation
Experience of working in matrixed teams of scientists to meet project objectives
Demonstrated effective problem-solving skills
Strong organizational skills and communication across teams
