Responsibilities

Conduct domain-driven research, data analysis and program evaluation on an iterative & continual basis to assess program efficacy, skills gaps, and operational risk
Design comprehensive technical curricula for field-based service providers, technical support teams, and technical stakeholders at customer sites related to the installation, maintenance, repair and operation of Skydio’s sUAS flight systems
Collaborate closely with Product Design, Engineering, Reliability, Product Managers, Field Services, Regulatory Affairs, Legal, Operations, and industry-based subject matter experts (SMEs) to design educational and practical curricula that prepare field-based teams for safe, compliant, and efficient operations
Collaborate closely with Training Operations and Technical Instructors to align curricula with business requirements
Design and author skill evaluation rubrics & knowledge assessment

Qualification

Required

3–6 years of experience in technical writing, particularly in safety-critical, industrial, or defense-focused environments
Demonstrated experience working with technical teams to convert PRDs, user stories, and technical specs into end-user documentation
Strong portfolio showcasing work in industrial or OEM settings with complex systems
Ability to author across multiple content types, including manuals, reference guides, white papers, 2D/3D visual content, and interactive training assets
Deep understanding of documentation control processes and content lifecycle management
Experience applying industrial regulations and standards including FAA, OSHA, NFPA, IEEE, ASCE, NIST, CJIS, and others to the design, development, and evaluation of technical curricula
Professional conduct and experience working with cross-functional stakeholders, including executives
Comfortable operating independently and owning end-to-end curriculum development projects

Preferred

5+ years of experience in technical writing, particularly in safety-critical, industrial, or defense-focused environments
Experience with XML/DITA, content management systems, and tools like MadCap Flare, FrameMaker, SolidWorks Composer, or similar
