STEVENS POINT AREA YMCA is seeking a Day Camp Program Coordinator for their Camp Glacier Hollow. This role involves planning and leading day camp operations, supervising staff and campers, and ensuring the health and safety of all participants during the camp season.

Individual & Family Services

Responsibilities

Planning and leading general day camp operations

Staff and camper supervision

Office administration

Camper files and record keeping

Daily schedule planning/organization

Day camp programming

Assisting the Health and Operations Coordinator in overseeing the health and safety of campers and staff

Camper health checks

Administering camper medications

First aid and sick camper treatment/documentation

Overseeing all day camp programming

Assisting with leadership of additional youth programs as assigned

Required

The Day Camp Program Coordinator must be at least 18 years of age

Previous camp or related leadership experience

Previous leadership experience and/or a desire to work with youth and teens is required

A valid driver's license is required

Must be able to respond to campers or staff needing first aid in various situations around campgrounds

Must be able to lead and participate along with groups of campers in various physical activities and in various indoor/outdoor settings

A high level of physical fitness, energy, and stamina, as well as the ability to lift/carry/load heavy supplies and equipment, is required

All staff are required to provide a physician-signed health examination and complete a fingerprint background check prior to work

Preferred

Emergency medical response, first responder, or other licensed health care certification is valued

Lifeguarding certification is preferred

Preference will be given to applicants who have completed college coursework or a degree in camp administration, youth development/education, recreation, health-related fields, and/or previous camp experience
