Traveling Exhibits Props & Costumes Intern
Minnesota Children's Museum is dedicated to sparking children's learning through play. The Traveling Exhibits Props and Costumes Intern will assist the traveling exhibit team in constructing, maintaining, cleaning, and repairing costumes and props for various exhibits.

Responsibilities
Repair and maintain existing costumes and props
Assist with fabrication of traveling exhibit props
Sew new costumes and props from existing patterns
Take inventory and clean incoming props
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Knowledge or experience with fabrication and power tools (drills, table saw, jig saw, etc.)
Knowledge and experience with machine sewing and hand sewing
Ability to lift 50lbs
Ability to organize time and work independently, follow directions and complete tasks in an effective manner
Ability to concentrate in a busy work environment
Skill in coordinating tasks and projects
Thrives working within a team environment
Preferred
Previous coursework/experience in props, woodworking, casting and mold making, sewing, or pattern drafting is a plus
Knowledge or experience with universal design principles is a plus
Knowledge or experience with painting is a plus
Pictures, examples, and in-progress documentation are not required, but are highly encouraged
