Accountant - Remote
Connections Health Solutions is a leading provider of immediate-access behavioral health crisis care. The Accountant will perform accounting duties related to payroll processing, maintain financial records, and prepare financial reports while ensuring compliance with best practices in accounting and finance procedures.

Responsibilities
Review monthly financial results compared to budget and provide variance analytics
Prepares journal entries with supporting documentation as assigned
Partner with internal departments to present monthly financial results and assist with monthly commentary
Reconcile assigned balance sheet reconciliations in line with best practice and internal controls
Conducts all necessary analysis and research related to vendors transactions
Provides information and assistance to facilitate the completion of annual financial statement audits
Maintains systems and controls that verify the integrity and accuracy of all financial systems, processes, and data
Develops, establishes, and maintains a work priority system to ensure daily and heavy workloads are fulfilled
Maintains strict confidentiality regarding all employee and financial information
Prepare and submit accurate payroll processing using the Ceridian Dayforce platform for both exempt and non-exempt employees on a bi-weekly basis
Work with managers to ensure employee hours are submitted accurately and approved on a timely basis every pay period. Resolve any discrepancies directly with employees and/or their manager
Set up correct garnishment and tax levy calculations as required
Process accurate and timely year-end reporting as it relates to W2, and 401K census
Generate payroll analytics prior to payroll funding to ensure accuracy of payroll
Partner with Human Resource, FP&A and third party to ensure configurations with the payroll system are optimized
Create and maintain payroll and general accounting standard operating procedures and establish consistent policies
Assist with successful quarterly and year-end audits in areas related to payroll and general accounting inquiries
Serve as the point of contact for all payroll-related and operating expense questions. Research, analyze, and resolve problems or questions. Proactively work with team members to reduce issues and create positive outcomes
Complete in a timely manner assigned balance sheet reconciliations
Performs all other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's in Accounting or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
4 years of payroll management experience
Experience running payroll in a multi-state environment
Strong background in payroll tax compliance, reconciliation, and reporting
Previous experience with all types of garnishments, levies, liens, support orders and subpoenas
Familiarity with benefits rules and regulations
Superior knowledge of Microsoft Excel and analytical reporting
Excellent problem solving, organizational and communication skills
The Company has a mandatory vaccination policy. All successful applicants must be fully vaccinated, including showing proper documentation, or otherwise be exempt pursuant to the Company's exemption process prior to their start date as a condition of employment
Preferred
7 years of payroll processing experience, including time in Ceridian
Previous experience implementing new or replacement payroll systems
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)
