Corporate Paralegal
Delta Dental of Michigan is seeking a Corporate Paralegal to join their Legal-Compliance Department. The role involves supporting the General Counsel & Compliance Officer by managing legal documents, conducting research, and ensuring compliance with corporate governance and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities
Track, maintain, and help to coordinate hard copy and electronic document and record collections, reviews and productions, and client flies, including corporate agendas, minutes, books (i.e., board, board committee, and internal committees and taskforces), disclosures, surveys, and other records. Calendar and maintain deadline-driven documents and filings
Create, implement and maintain project, case, contract, and other files and physical or electronic organizational systems
Prepare for and attend meetings and presentations
Assist with the drafting of various legal, regulatory and organizational documents such as contracts, notices, letters, reports, regulatory reports & filings, registrations, statements, and other related deliverables by gathering information and professionally preparing deliverables in a timely fashion along with any ancillary documents to accompany filings in accordance with department policies and procedures and legal-regulatory requirements
Draft and process legal, regulatory, and other assigned response letters in connection with any requests related to formal complaints (i.e., external appeals and grievances), legal actions (e.g., discovery or subrogation), inquiries, audits or examinations, in compliance with established department policy and procedure
Assist with policy form, rate, and material filings and launches working with co-workers and internal departments in drafting compliant documents based on previous models
Participate in the drafting, editing, and preparation of meeting agendas, minutes, workplans, presentations, compilation of board, board committee or internal committee materials, and the maintenance of related books and records
Conducts research using LexisNexis, NMAC, and other general search engines and alternative search programs
Perform other work-related duties as assigned by the General Counsel & Compliance Officer
Comply with department and corporate administrative procedures, policies, and best practices
General working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including MS Word, Excel, Forms, & PowerPoint needed. Prior experience utilizing Adobe Acrobat a plus
Communicate, correspond, and interact with clients and outside entities, such as government agencies, corporations, and other offices to gather information or data
Complies with department and corporate administrative procedures and requirements including weekly and monthly deadlines for submitting time sheets, time entries, status reports and availability updates
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
3 to 7 years' experience
Strong interpersonal, professional, and communication skills
Demonstrated self-starter who is highly organized, positive, and professional collaborator
Legally authorized to work in the United States of America
Successfully pass background checks and drug testing
General working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including MS Word, Excel, Forms, & PowerPoint
Prior experience utilizing Adobe Acrobat a plus
