The University of Nebraska-Lincoln is seeking a Finance/Grant Specialist to provide finance and grant support in compliance with relevant regulations. This role involves executing and reviewing finance and grant transactions while ensuring high-quality customer service.

Responsibilities

Providing finance and grant support in a timely and accurate manner
Executing and reviewing routine and complex finance and pre- and post-award grant transactions
Working closely with employees within the units served
Providing a high level of customer service and professionalism in all interactions

Required

Bachelor's degree plus 4 years of related finance or grant management work experience; equivalent education/experience considered
Experience with SAP or large integrated finance system
A willingness and demonstrated ability to learn new hardware and software systems
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality in compliance with rules and regulations, including HIPAA and FERPA guidelines on the disclosure of information
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal formats
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships within and outside of reporting lines
Demonstrated ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines

Preferred

Experience performing project or cost accounting
Experience conducting training
Experience serving multiple units as part of a service team
Experience performing grant-related tasks at a University of Nebraska institution
Experience with UNL grants management system or similar grants management system
Knowledge of federal and state laws and guidelines related to business practices
Knowledge of grant terminology and practices
Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor others
