The role involves working in various departments of the environmental laboratory, analyzing samples for pollutants and gaining practical laboratory experience.

Responsibilities

You will help provide local service to Alaskan clients that report to government regulatory agencies and private individuals
You will be trained in one or several departments throughout the laboratory
In the Waters Department, you will work on bench chemistry methods, including colorimetric, gravimetric and potentiometric techniques
In the Metals digestions department, you will work with strong acids using HotBlock and AutoBlock techniques
In the Organic Extractions department, you will work with Solid Phase, Liq/Liq and Horn Sonication techniques
In the Sample Control department, you will receive samples and log them into our LIMS following the CoC
You will prepare sample kits and transfer samples throughout the whole laboratory

BA/BS in a scientific field
