Responsibilities
Lead and/or review structural analyses and designs for water- and earth-retaining structures, including dams, spillways, outlet works, floodwalls, and other hydraulic structures
Prepare and/or review design drawings, technical specifications and reports, and oversee construction activities
Conduct condition assessments of concrete, steel, masonry, and earth structures
Lead project planning and execution, including scope development, budgeting, scheduling, and invoicing
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality engineering and consulting services, leveraging deep technical expertise across our offices and partner network to ensure excellence in project execution
Mentor and support team members, providing guidance and reviews on a wide array of structural topics
Contribute to proposal development and marketing efforts
Remain on the front line of industry-leading software and technologies and make recommendations for adoption
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Civil and/or Structural Engineering, or a related field
7+ years of proven experience in structural engineering applied to water infrastructure
Licensed Professional Engineer or ability to become registered within 6 months
Experience with computer-aided structural analysis and finite element modeling (STAAD Pro, SAP2000, ANSYS, or similar)
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, BlueBeam, and other relevant design software
Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with strategic thinking
Detail-oriented - must demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness while delivering and managing multiple projects
Willingness and ability to perform field work and travel
Excellent English technical, verbal, and written communication skills
Ability to pass a background check which may include criminal history, motor vehicle record and credit check
Ability to pass a pre-employment screening
Preferred
Master's degree is a plus
Direct experience with dams and hydropower facilities is a plus
