The State of Colorado's Department of Natural Resources is seeking a temporary position to support daily operations at the Cameo Shooting and Education Complex. The role involves providing quality customer service, performing maintenance, and assisting with various tasks related to outdoor recreation and facility upkeep.

Responsibilities

Learning gun safety and range safety rules and be able to report violations

Greeting customers, answering phones, selling day/annual passes, scheduling/permitting/data entry

Cleaning of public facilities including restrooms, vault toilets, picnic areas, ranges, etc

Building/fixing fence, hanging signs, repairing target systems, filling clay throwers, etc

Exposure to weather --Working outdoors is essential, this position will often be exposed to inclement weather, heat and cold, rain, snow etc

Contact with Others --Most of the fieldwork is done independently, however exposure to the public is common

Coordinate or Lead Others -- This position may be asked to organize seasonal or volunteer work crews

Exposure to herbicides (spraying weeds), loud noises- Personal protective equipment is provided

Required

Must be at least 18 years of age

Must possess and maintain a valid Colorado driver's license and provide a current motor vehicle report

Basic computer knowledge

Willing to work outside during inclement weather

Ability to work with little or no supervision

Must be able to lift 35-50 pounds repeatedly during the course of a single workday

First Aid and CPR certifications may be required- Will be provided

Must be able to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays

Must possess strong interpersonal communication skills

Pursuant to the DNR-120 Fleet and Driving Standards Administrative Directive, any worker who will be expected to drive a State-owned vehicle is responsible for maintaining a safe driving record and a valid driver license prior to driving any State-owned vehicle
