Responsibilities

Designing, developing, and testing advanced materials and manufacturing processes
Ensuring reliability, scalability, and manufacturability
Working closely with R&D, manufacturing, and quality to establish standard practices for material selection and process controls across hardware platforms

Required

Bachelor's degree minimum
Minimum 4+ years of experience in advanced materials and process engineering role
Due to Contractual requirements, must be a U.S. Person defined as, U.S. citizen permanent resident or green card holder, workers granted asylum or refugee status
Due to national security requirements imposed by the U.S. Government, candidates for this position must not be a People's Republic of China national or Russian national unless the candidate is also a U.S. citizen

Preferred

Advanced degree in Material Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
Experience with complex hardware systems (aerospace, optical, cryogenic, photonics, electronics)
Demonstrated ability to develop and scale processes from R&D to production
Hands-on approach to problem solving and willingness to engage directly with R&D and production teams
Knowledge of failure analysis tools (SEM, XPS, etc.)
Proficiency in GD&T and process validation
Six Sigma Black Belt Certification
Experience with quality inspections and vendor management for passive optics (lenses, prisms, optical fibers and connectors) and active optics (acousto-optic modulators, electro-optic modulators, lasers)
Experience with reliability testing of optical components and opto-mechanical systems
Experience with data analytics for hardware performance
Ability to build strong relationships and effectively partner with others
Excellent organization, communication, and documentation skills
Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision
