Responsibilities
Design of various types of Bridge Structures including steel, concrete, post-tensioned and prestressed concrete
Design various structures, such as retaining walls, gantries, and foundations
Bridge Load Ratings
Inspection of Bridges and Culverts
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Civil, Architectural or Structural Engineering or related discipline
Professional engineering (PE) license
7 years of related experience
Domestic and/or international travel may be required
Preferred
PE license in Massachusetts
PE in Connecticut, New Hampshire with ability to get reciprocity a plus
Massachusetts SE
7+ years of MassDOT bridge design experience
Working knowledge in AutoCAD and/or Microstation /OpenBridge
Working knowledge of structural modeling software, such as STAAD, CSI Bridge, MIDAS, AASHTOWare, or Larsa 4D
Experience with NHDOT, CTDOT, RIDOT, Massport, and/or MBTA structural design projects
Strong writing and verbal communication skills
Experience with movable bridge designs
Experience with tunnel design or analysis
