Responsibilities

Conducting on-site assessments to evaluate energy consumption patterns and identify areas for improvement
Implement energy-saving strategies and monitor energy consumption to ensure efficient operation
Utilizing the BAS (Building Automation System) to help identify energy saving opportunities
Applying engineering principles to analyze systems and recommend more efficient solutions
Assisting senior engineers in the design, development, and implementation of energy-related projects and strategies
Staying updated on the latest technologies and participating in learning that leads to improvement in energy efficiency
Becoming familiar with equipment sequence of operations and how control systems work
Becoming familiar with ASHRAE standards
Assist with the creating, maintaining, and establishing Energy Reduction Standards
Project management of energy efficiency projects
Working with other facility engineering disciplines/in house (maybe union) on energy projects
Performing energy audits and identifying energy saving opportunities
Develop and maintain a positive and respectful workplace with all employees
Promote site Lean transformation and integrate into a team culture
Sustainability reporting
The entering of energy/sustainability related work orders and tracking progress
Involvement in metering/tracking of electricity, natural gas, and water across the facility

Required

Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited college or institution

Preferred

Strong oral and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
Established project management skills
Association of Energy Engineers certification(s)
Previous Project Management, Design, or Engineering experience with energy or carbon reduction projects
Self-motivated, the ability to work both independently and within a team environment
Experience working in a unionized environment
Experience with Microsoft Office suite
Ability to manage conflicting priorities
Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
