Marketing and Outreach Intern

FLACRA is a well-established, growing not-for-profit provider of behavioral health and substance abuse treatment services in the Finger Lakes Region. They are seeking a Marketing and Public Relations Intern to assist in creating promotional materials, conducting outreach, managing databases, and supporting public relations efforts.

Responsibilities

Assist in creating promotional and informational materials for FLACRA’s programs, including posters, brochures, photos, and digital marketing
Maintain inventory of marketing supplies and materials
Organize and recruit resources, including volunteers, support for brochure distribution, and participation in grant applications
Conduct in-person outreach to community partners and members to share information on FLACRA’s services and programs
Manage and maintain information databases and mailing lists
Support outreach efforts, volunteer recruitment, project coordination, and assist in public relations, including press releases and fundraising events
Leverage social media channels—Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, and blogs—to promote FLACRA events and services
Develop and maintain the agency newsletter and contribute to content creation
Participate in community events, such as health fairs, community forums, workshops, and recruitment initiatives for QHPs (Qualified Health Professionals)
Collect and organize data for outcome reports and evaluate the effectiveness of marketing strategies
Plan and coordinate employee celebrations and wellness activities
Manage the overall calendar and schedule of marketing and public relations events

Required

Currently enrolled in a college, university, or graduate program in Marketing, Communications, or a related field
Interest in nonprofit management, business development, human services, urban/community planning, or education
Valid NYS Driver's License

Preferred

Strong customer service skills, with excellent written and verbal communication
Creativity, enthusiasm, and a proactive approach
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, social media platforms, and familiarity with databases
Ability to work under tight deadlines and availability for occasional evening or weekend shifts
Self-motivated and capable of working independently
Experience with social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube)
Knowledge of HTML, WordPress, or SharePoint is a plus
Comfortable speaking with new people and engaging with diverse groups
