Mid-Level Rail/Track Engineer
Jacobs is a company focused on solving critical problems for thriving cities and sustainable environments. They are seeking a Mid-Level Rail/Track Engineer to design track alignments and provide engineering services for rail projects, collaborating with a team of technicians and engineers.
Responsibilities
Design horizontal and vertical track alignments, and trackwork components on a variety of exciting large rail projects across the country
Supporting various aspect of track/rail design, calculations and engineering services on both design-build and design-bid-build projects
Creating drawings and simulations using software tools and resources supporting our clients’ overall project goals
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
California Professional Engineer (PE) License or the ability to obtain within 12 months
At least 5 years of demonstrated professional experience on rail and transit projects
Professional expertise with Microstation, Power InRail, and OpenRail
Knowledge of FRA/DOT, AREMA, SCRRA and other local railroad criteria
Strong analytical, conceptual, communication and organizational skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to assemble plan sets meeting client expectations
Preferred
Professional expertise with AutoCAD Civil 3D
3D modeling Experience
Experience on both Freight and Commuter Rail project
