Responsibilities
Collaborate in the development of innovative approaches, instruments, and policies for disaster risk management
Interface with public and private stakeholders at multiple scales and across risk management institutions
Contribute to interdisciplinary training as part of the Environmental Finance and Risk Management Program
Price, trade, hedge, transfer environmental and disaster-related financial risks, and devise new financial instruments to mitigate, adapt, and reduce environmental and disaster risk
Qualification
Required
Completion of a PhD in Disaster and Risk Policy, Decision Science, Environmental Sciences, Environmental Economics, Applied Mathematics to the Environmental Sciences, Quantitative Environmental Finance, or a related field is required
Demonstrated teaching and research experience in those fields, preferably involving the natural environment, such as contingent financing for natural hazard preparedness, or financial risk transfer for adverse environmental conditions
Excellent potential in research involving modeling of complex systems
Aptitude to supervise students at the MSc and PhD levels
Desire to engage in cross-disciplinary research groups
