Responsibilities
Drive a team to deliver best in class performance of our novel hardware designs from inception, through manufacturing, implementation and maturation, and eventually deprecation
Ensure all core system components, including CPU and memory, are meeting or exceed the high performance bar
Ensure performance is healthy across the fleet of EC2 servers
Organize a team of skilled hardware and system development engineers to partner with our silicon suppliers, ODMs, and internal customers
Define implementation strategy and report status frequently to senior leadership
Enable AWS to launch our next generation server designs
Qualification
Required
10+ years of engineering experience
5+ years of engineering team management experience
10+ years of planning, designing, developing and delivering cloud hardware experience with primary focus on CPU and memory
Experience partnering with product or program management teams
Experience managing multiple concurrent programs, projects and development teams in an Agile environment
Preferred
Experience partnering with silicon providers and ODMs
Experience designing and developing large scale, high-performing applications
