Deputy Radiological Control Manager

SIMCO, LLC is the managing and operating contractor of the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP), the nation’s only repository for the disposal of nuclear waste. They are seeking a Deputy Radiological Control Manager responsible for implementing the Radiological Control Program and overseeing compliance with regulations and best practices.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for day-to-day implementation of the WIPP Radiological Control Program and Conduct of Operations in all aspects of routine, abnormal, and emergency response work
The successful candidate will direct Radiological Control Supervisors and Technicians, as needed; support execution of project work scope as assigned and provide field oversight to ensure compliance with applicable regulations, permits, DOE Orders and incorporation of industry best practices
This position will be responsible for incorporating ALARA into the work planning process and will be expected to interact with all levels of personnel including the President and the DOE
This position will be required to qualify as a Radiological Control Manager and perform those duties in the absence of the Radiological Control Manager
This individual will participate in staffing, disciplinary action, corrective action planning, event reviews, and emergency planning
The successful candidate will review and approve financial items such as purchases and reimbursements
This position is on call 50% of the time for the plant and holds a position at the Emergency Operations Center (EOC)

Required

Bachelor's degree with nine (9) years of related experience, or
Associate's degree with thirteen (13) years of related experience, or
High School Diploma or Equivalency with seventeen (17) years of related experience is required
Must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in limited circumstances
