Responsibilities

Demonstrates the ability to safely and competently perform tasks, skills, duties, procedures and responsibilities according to Medical Center Policy and Procedure. Including, but not limited to:

Demonstrates ability to assess/interpret age-specific data

Encourages involvement of patient/family/significant other in decision making related to plan of care

Interviews patients and significant others to collect data necessary in the implementation of delegated orthopedic care

Seeks out orthopedic information from families, nurses, doctors and other health team members

Assesses for need of specialty equipment and the proper functioning of that equipment in preparation for an orthopedic case on the floor or in the operating room

Required

High School Graduate or GED

Minimum of one year experience as an orthopedic technician in an acute care setting or Physicians Office

Experience with different traction set ups and casting materials

AHA Basic Life Support - CPR
