Tool Design Engineer
Pryer Aerospace is a company specializing in aerospace engineering, and they are seeking a Tool Design Engineer. The role involves interpreting blueprints, designing custom tools, and improving tooling for production efficiency and safety.

Responsibilities
Interpret blueprints including fabrication, mechanical assembly and CAD models to develop tooling concepts
Design custom tools, jigs, and fixtures for assembly, sheet metal forming, machining, and inspection processes
Create CAD models using reverse-engineering techniques and equipment
Perform tolerance stack-ups and stress analysis to ensure tool performance and safety
Ability to work with engineering to identify problems with production performance or tool life and recommend solutions or enhancements
Continuously improve tooling for cost-efficiency, durability, and ergonomic safety
Support tool fabrication, validation, and implementation on the production floor
Use CAD software for 2D and 3D modeling to apply commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the field of tool design, fabrication and assembly
Maintain documentation, including tool design drawings and usage guidelines
Qualification
Required
High School diploma or GED required
5+ years of experience in aerospace, materials, manufacturing processes, machining, sheet metal forming and 3D modelling
Experience designing mill fixtures, hot form dies and assembly jigs for large complex aerospace structures
Knowledge of project management, lean manufacturing
Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally with internal and external customers
Flexible with changing priorities and tasks
Ability to utilize CAD software, 2D and 3D Modeling software (CATIA, Rhino)
Proficiency with MS Office, material management and ERP/MRP systems
Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to quality
Self-motivated, dependable, and capable of working independently
Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills
Adaptable and able to manage shifting priorities in a dynamic environment
Collaborative team player with clear, respectful communication
Organized, accountable, and committed to continuous improvement
Legally able to work in the U.S
Adhere to OSHA, NADCAP, ISO9000 / AS9100, ITAR, FAA regulations and company specific safety standards
Internal Certifications: Forklift, Slings/Cranes, or others deemed appropriate
Preferred
CAD Software education at a Vocational/Trade School or college course
Certifications in Lean, Six Sigma
