Responsibilities

Lead the design, analysis, and integration of electrical systems for new construction and renovation projects, including power distribution, lighting, life safety, and renewable energy systems
Develop comprehensive design documentation, including drawings, schematics, specifications, and cost estimates
Coordinate with internal mechanical, plumbing, and sustainability teams, as well as external architects, clients, and contractors to ensure seamless project delivery
Review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and participate in construction administration and commissioning activities
Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and designers, fostering professional growth and ensuring high-quality deliverables
Conduct site surveys and field inspections to assess existing conditions and verify installation compliance
Stay current with evolving technologies, codes, and best practices in energy efficiency and smart building systems

Required

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
8–12 years of professional experience in building systems design within a consulting environment
Professional Engineer (PE) license, or eligibility to obtain one within six months of hire
Thorough understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC), NYC Electrical Code, and related industry standards
Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SKM, or similar electrical analysis tools
Strong understanding of renewable energy systems, emergency power design, and sustainability initiatives such as LEED or WELL
Exceptional organizational, communication, and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
