Auditor Coding Educ & Training
Mercy is a healthcare organization seeking an Auditor for Coding Education and Training. The auditor will review medical records for coding accuracy, perform revenue audits, and provide education on compliant coding practices to support the organization's revenue cycle and compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities
Review and analyze documentation present in the medical record for inpatient, outpatient and/or professional services to analyze diagnoses/procedure codes as described by the provider(s) of record
Perform revenue audit functions as assigned
Support appropriate reimbursement and compliance with governmental billing regulations across the Mercy SSUs
Work closely with multidisciplinary team within each Community to provide support and facilitate compliant processes
Analyze and present complex revenue information to support operational and strategic decision-making
Provide compliance support to the organization's revenue cycle including oversight and analysis of quarterly RVU reports
Assist with physician incentive requirements, preparation and completion of annual audit schedules and various other coding analysis
Prepare reports of findings and meet with providers and/or coders to provide education and training on accurate coding practices
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or equivalent required
At least 5 years coding related experience
RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P, CCA, CPC, CPC-P, COC, CPMA, CIC, CRC, and/or CIRCC required
Proficiency with ICD-10-CM coding is required
Proficiency with DRGs and/or APCs, CPT/HCPCS coding
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Working knowledge of 3M encoder
Experience with Epic EHR
Preferred
A.S from an accredited Health Information Technology program or B.S. from an accredited Health Information Management Program
Minimum 3 years of auditing experience
Any additional certification(s) from this list: RHIA, RHIT Plus CCS, CCA, and/or CPC
