HQE Inspector for the Division of Budget and Program Operations
The City of New York is committed to providing safe and affordable housing for its residents. The Housing Quality Enforcement Inspector will conduct Housing Quality Standard Inspections of public housing units, ensuring compliance and reporting findings using electronic systems.

Responsibilities
Be able to perform inspections independently as to the condition of the dwelling
Attempt to perform twenty-five (25) inspections per day, provided that NYCHA schedules the day’s inspections for each inspector in a single development or neighborhood
Collect all data from inspections in order to enter information into Elite Database System
Ability to carry equipment necessary to perform inspections
Communicate clearly if issues arise to supervisor
May perform inspections in team, if necessary
Qualification
Required
A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above
High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above
Education and/or experience which is equivalent to '1' or '2' above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in '1' above
Preferred
Computer knowledge
Possess Interpersonal Skills
Knowledge of rental subsidies or Section 8 subsidy preferred
Knowledge of housing structures and housekeeping standards preferred
Bilingual a plus
