Responsibilities
You will work with your team to improve our pipeline that helps us understand how buyers arrived at Etsy and their experience on the site and app
You will help build and maintain streaming datasets that power our search, ads, and recommendation systems
You will support evolving our bot filtering rules to ensure the quality of our data
You will partner with product engineering teams to ensure that data collected is of high quality and consistent across all of our platforms
You will help maintain and update core datasets that are reusable and cover the needs of our analytics, product, and engineering partners

Qualification
Required
Experience with data pipelines for collecting, storing, and analyzing huge sets of data in batch and streaming contexts
Experience writing robust data pipelines in Spark, BigQuery SQL, and Kafka Streams
Familiarity with Scala, Python, Java, and SQL
Ability to integrate low-latency stream processing into traditional batch jobs
Experience designing methods and tooling for ensuring the validity and quality of data
Ability to communicate effectively with team members and internal customers
Generosity with time and experience, with the ability to mentor and learn from other engineers
Flexibility with languages and tools, and willingness to learn whatever is necessary to get the job done
Ability to tackle unconstrained problems and know when to seek help
Preferred
Experience with technologies like Spark, Kafka, Airflow, Looker, Dataproc, and BigQuery
Familiarity with integrating low-latency and batch processing
Experience working with event-based data systems
Experience with stream processing systems like Kafka Streams, Spark, or Dataflow
Experience writing SQL queries for data exploration and analysis
