Responsibilities
Design, analyze, simulate, test, and document power conversion (and related analog) circuitry. This circuitry will dominantly involve non-isolated and isolated switch mode power converters and linear converters. Main emphasis is on board-mounted power end use applications
Assist in architecting at the circuit card level
Help to see circuit card development through its design phases, from requirements definition through initial integration testing
Drive to meet schedule concerns. Define schedules for circuit level tasking
Guide ECAD drafters through layout and routing activities, with moderate support from senior engineers. Assist in layer stackup definition
Function as an individual contributor. Understand the role of a small team lead and engage in personal technical growth
Clearly present your work product to functional and program leadership
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
Typically requires a minimum of 2 years prior relevant experience
Design, analysis, test, and/or simulation experience with one or more of the following non-isolated converter topologies: buck, boost, buck-boost
Experience using tools such as MATLAB, MathCAD, Mathematica, or other similar tools
Design and/or Analysis experience with analog electronics design, including at least one of the following: FETs/BJTs, op-amp, high/low/band pass filters, clock/data termination, and comparator circuits
Preferred
An advanced degree in Electrical Engineering
Design and analysis experience with analog or digital power converter design
Experience guiding Electronic Computer-Aided Design (ECAD) personnel through PWB layout of power circuitry and technical drawing creation
Experience communicating and documenting technical topics at the small team level
Experience in any one of the following: Acting as a liaison between program and functional management in a cross-matrixed organization, Military specifications, Design considerations for voltages > 400V and/or power > 10kW. Three-phase power systems, power factor control, and inverter/rectifier development
