Responsibilities
Architect, deploy, and optimize highly available OpenStack clouds across multiple sites, continually improving performance, scalability, and security
Administer core OpenStack services (Nova, Neutron, Cinder, Glance, Keystone), integrating compute, networking, and storage with data-center hardware
Design infrastructure-as-code workflows using Ansible, Terraform, and Python to streamline provisioning, patching, and DR testing
Implement robust monitoring and alerting, analyze performance trends, and drive capacity-planning initiatives
Champion security best practices including RBAC, secrets management, and compliance hardening
Lead incident response, troubleshoot complex issues spanning hardware, virtualization, and network layers, and coordinate vendor escalations
Produce clear runbooks, diagrams, and change-control documentation to support operational excellence and audit readiness
Mentor cloud engineers, share knowledge through code reviews and workshops, and foster a culture of learning and collaboration
Participate in an on-call rotation covering three data-center regions
Qualification
Required
7+ years in cloud or infrastructure engineering roles, with 3+ years running OpenStack in production
Deep Linux administration skills (Ubuntu, RHEL, or similar) and solid networking fundamentals (routing, VLANs, firewalls)
Proficiency with automation / scripting (Ansible, Python) and infrastructure-as-code tooling (Terraform or equivalent)
Hands-on experience with virtualization and container ecosystems (KVM, Docker, Kubernetes)
Track record of improving system reliability, performance, and security in 24×7 environments
Strong analytical, documentation, and customer-facing communication skills
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or comparable experience
Preferred
OpenStack or Linux certifications
SDN/NFV knowledge
Experience integrating Kubernetes with OpenStack
