Mechanical Engineer, Journeyman

The Mechanical Engineer will provide Engineering support to the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, focusing on UCA Mission Control System engineering and design support activities.

Responsibilities
Provide engineering and drafting support efforts for the UCA projects
Developing and maintaining mechanical, electrical, and systems engineering documentation to involve product integration, installation, interface design analysis, installation, fielding, and operational maintenance documentation related to all program specific drawings and documents consistent with the UCA configuration management practices
Qualification
Required
Experience in engineering, analysis and integration of equipment/systems and subsystems
Proficient with CAD software and analysis tools (structural analysis, thermal analysis)
Experience with systems engineering framework and reviews such as System Requirements Review, Preliminary Design Review, and Critical Design Review
Knowledge of manufacturing processes, material selection, and design for manufacturability
Experience with design, development, installation, and maintenance of rackmounted communications systems, including aircraft and ship-based equipment
Ability to interface professionally with peers at all levels and communicate effectively with project staff and other team members from various contractors and government entities
Demonstrates exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and completeness in all tasks
Strong customer relations, analytics, documentation skills
Self-starter, highly motivated, strong work ethic with a commitment to quality
Microsoft office suite proficiency, i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Ability to work within a challenging, fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Ability to work independently
Ability to multi-task and meet competing, deliverable deadlines
Detail oriented
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to provide clear status and/or communicate issues
Ability to adapt to evolving technology
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related areas
In lieu of a bachelor's degree, an additional five (5) years of work experience can be substituted
Three (3) years of experience performing engineering functions related to military C6ISR Systems
This position is subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
In order to complete the requirements for government security clearance investigation you must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to complete the full background investigation
This position requires an Active Secret Security Clearance with ability to obtain and maintain a higher clearance if required
Preferred
Autodesk Inventor experience preferred
Familiarity with ASME Y14.000 drafting standard preferred
