Interim Controller - 90-day assignment on-site
Premier America Credit Union is one of the nation’s largest credit unions, serving over 100,000 members. They are seeking a short-term Contract Controller to support year-end activities, assisting the CFO with accounting and financial reporting management, overseeing financial planning, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities
Assumes responsibility for the performance of the accounting function
Provides direction and assistance to the organizational units regarding accounting policies and procedures and efficient control and utilization of financial resources
Maintains and updates Allowance Loan and Lease Loss (“ALLL”) Policy. Ensures adequacy of ALLL balance and performs monthly ALLL calculation
Provides business evaluations related to mergers, acquisitions, and business line acquisitions and sales
Oversees all aspects of wires and cash orders
Oversees all aspect of accounting operations: A/P, A/R, Cash Management, Payroll, Tax, Inventory Control and general accounting
Responsible for establishing and maintaining internal controls
Responsible for the month-end close including ensuring timeliness & accuracy
Responsible for overseeing and managing daily and monthly general ledger reconciliations
Responsible for loan accounting
Responsible for FAS91 accounting
Responsible for fixed asset and work in process accounts
Responsible for quarterly Mortgage Servicing Rights (MSR) accounting
Responsible for quarterly 5300 Call Report regulatory filing
Oversees and review accounting policies and controls, ensuring GAAP compliance
Prepares and oversees preparation of financial statements and detailed analysis
Prepares management reports as necessary for supporting the needs of the Board
Serves as primary contact for external auditors, internal auditors and regulators relative to Premier America’s financial operations
Assesses the impact of new and/or potential regulatory and accounting pronouncements relative to the organization’s financial operations. Ensures Premier America’s compliance with such pronouncements
Drives process improvement and seeks ways to improve operational efficiency
Stays informed of trends and changes in the accounting field

Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field required
Must be able to start immediately and work thru assignment completion
CPA required
10+ years of progressive leadership experience in accounting functions within a credit union or banking environment
Proven track record of managing accounting functions efficiently and effectively
Strong interpersonal skills and executive presence; able to build trust and influence across the organization
