Associate Underwriter/Account Executive

WestPac is a family-centric, locally owned regional wholesale and Managing General Agent (MGA) insurance firm. They are seeking a client-focused Associate Underwriter/Account Executive to provide underwriting and account support while working in a high-volume environment.

Responsibilities

Underwriting Support: Assist Brokers and Underwriters with both new business and renewals, ensuring a smooth process
Renewal Management: Underwrite and quote a designated renewal book of business, adhering to assigned premium thresholds
Data Collection: Review and collect complete underwriting information from agents, including applications, loss histories, and submissions
Relationship Building: Develop strong working relationships with insurance carriers and agents to enhance collaboration
Insurance Knowledge: Utilize your understanding of commercial insurance coverages, markets, and underwriting practices
Account Service: Handle day-to-day account service activities, including inquiries, endorsements, and issue resolution in a timely manner
Team Support: Collaborate with the Service Team on functions such as quote processing, delivery, binding follow-ups, inspections, and policy issuance
Client Retention: Contribute to client retention efforts by participating in meetings, providing mentorship, and offering account backup as needed
System Proficiency: Accurately perform tasks in our agency management system, upholding our standards of product excellence
Additional Duties: Undertake other assigned tasks to support team objectives

Required

Minimum of 4 years in Property & Casualty insurance brokerage or agency
Bachelor's degree preferred
Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey professionalism both internally and externally
Resourceful, with critical thinking abilities and meticulous attention to detail
Highly organized, capable of managing and prioritizing multiple tasks simultaneously
Ability to engage positively with various office personalities
Flexible to changes in processes and procedures
Above-average computer skills with familiarity in relevant software
Values collaboration and appreciates constructive feedback
Holds an active Property and Casualty Producer License
Willingness to work regular core hours, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
