COMMUNICATIONS & DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

St. Coletta of Greater Washington is seeking a Communications & Development Manager to enhance donor relationships and elevate the organization's public presence. Responsibilities

Develop and oversee all donor-facing communications, including appeals, newsletters, impact reports, stewardship messages, annual reports, and campaign updates
Produce high-quality executive communications for the CEO and Chief Development Officer, including letters, talking points, statements, and briefing materials
Ensure a consistent organizational voice across all external communications and materials
Gather stories, data, and testimonials from program teams to highlight SCGW’s impact and mission
Manage a portfolio of donors and prospects; cultivate, solicit, and steward individuals, foundations, and corporate supporters
Prepare proposals, presentations, stewardship plans, and partnership overviews
Support major gift efforts through research, meeting preparation, and development of donor materials
Contribute to grant writing, reporting, and sponsor deliverables as needed
Build and strengthen relationships with corporate, nonprofit, government, and community partners that align with SCGW’s mission
Identify and cultivate new opportunities for sponsorships, volunteer engagement, and collaborative initiatives
Represent SCGW at meetings, events, and public engagements to build relationships and increase visibility
Support the CEO and CDO in preparing materials and follow-up communications for partnership meetings and advocacy efforts
Support planning and execution of donor events, site tours, cultivation gatherings, and stakeholder briefings
Develop messaging, talking points, and collateral for events and external presentations
Partner with program staff to plan meaningful engagement experiences that connect supporters to SCGW’s work
Collaborate with the Development Database Administrator to maintain accurate donor records and track moves management activity
Prepare communication summaries, fundraising reports, board materials, and engagement analytics
Maintain organized workflows, editorial calendars, and project timelines for communications and development activities

Required

Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills with experience producing donor-facing content
Demonstrated success cultivating and stewarding donors or managing external partnerships
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with diverse stakeholders
Experience in planning donor or stakeholder events and engagements
Familiarity with fundraising databases or CRM systems (e.g., Raiser's Edge)
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Commitment to SCGW's mission, values, and dedication to inclusivity and equity
Ability to work independently with little direction
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
Ability to work as a team to accomplish goals
Ability to meet schedules and time lines
Tuberculosis screening to assure no significant risk to the health and safety of others
Successfully passing a criminal background investigation and pre-employment and drug screenings
Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred
5–7 years of professional experience in nonprofit development, communications, external affairs, or stakeholder engagement
The ideal candidate is a sophisticated communicator and relationship-builder with strong writing skills, development experience, and the ability to represent SCGW in high-level settings
