Permit Coordinator
Glass Roots Construction (GRC) is a fiber optic utility construction firm that leverages the latest technologies and best practices. The Permit Coordinator is responsible for managing the permitting process for fiber optic installations, ensuring compliance with regulations, and coordinating with various agencies.
Responsibilities
Prepare, submit, and track permit applications
Coordinate with local, state, and federal agencies to ensure compliance with all permitting requirements
Review project plans and specifications to identify permitting needs and potential challenges
Maintain accurate records of permit statuses, deadlines, and documentation
Communicate effectively with permit managers, project managers, engineers, and clients to provide updates on permit progress
Resolve permitting issues and escalations in a timely manner to avoid project delays
Stay current on regulatory changes and industry standards related to telecommunications and environmental permitting
Assist in preparing reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 2 years of permitting experience in telecommunications construction, specifically in: Right of Way, Easement, Encroachment, FTTx Permitting, Long Haul, Cell Tower Infrastructure/Microwave, Railroad, Environmental, GIS Mapping
Strong understanding of local, state, and federal permitting processes and regulations
Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and permitting software/tools
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with regulatory agencies and project teams
Ability to read and interpret construction plans and technical documents
Ability to track permits via Verofy & have knowledge of GIS systems
A valid driver's license is required for all positions
Travel is required to support projects (approx. 10%)
Preferred
Knowledge of GIS software and mapping tools for permitting purposes
Plant Map/Maintenance
Experience working with utility companies and municipalities
Bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental science, or a related field is preferred but not required
