IT Security Administrator

The University of Tennessee at Martin is seeking an IT Security Administrator to serve as the senior subject matter expert for information security. This role involves architecting, implementing, and managing security solutions to protect the University’s data assets, while also leading strategic planning and risk management initiatives.

Responsibilities

Strategic planning for IT security and disaster recovery
Direct, develop, and implement security policy, plans, programs, and procedures
Review HECVAT for third-party contracts
Provide guidance for campus IT security communication, awareness, training, and education
Oversee vulnerability management and remediation
Serves as primary contact for IT security concerns
Respond to and enact changes from audits and assessments
Analysis of federal and state laws and regulations and impact for implementation, including FERPA, HIPAA, GLBA, GDPR, PCI, and other relevant regulations
Coordinate incident analysis and response
Lead campus security team
All other duties as assigned

Required

Bachelor's Degree
5 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
Experience in information security
Excellent oral, written, interpersonal, and customer service skills
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving experience
Ability to coordinate and perform multiple tasks/projects simultaneously, balancing priorities and deliverables
Strong attention to detail
Ability to think logically and critically
Ability to learn, be flexible to change, and be innovative
Ability to be creative and proactive yet disciplined, to prioritize workload
Ability to work independently as well as with a team

Preferred

Master's Degree
Industry standard security certifications are desirable
Knowledge of CIS Critical Security Controls
Experience in a higher education setting
Experience with M365, Azure, AWS
Experience with Microsoft group policy, SCCM, Intune, Azure AD
Experience with PowerShell
Experience with vulnerability management systems
Demonstrated ability to develop policies and strategic plans for IT security needs
Experience with directory services such as Active Directory
