Staff Accountant
ASCAP is a membership association representing over one million music creators and is dedicated to advocating for their rights. The Staff Accountant will play a vital role in ensuring accurate payment for public performance licensing while collaborating with various teams within the organization.

Responsibilities
Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with established policies and procedures
Month-end and year-end financial report generation, review, and distribution
Preparation and posting of journal entries
Preparation and support of the annual financial statement audit process
Preparation and support of various tax filings throughout the year
Assist with preparation and consolidation of the annual budget
Account reconciliation and analysis, including timely research and resolution of reconciling items
Work with royalty operations and revenue accounting teams as needed to resolve issues and reconcile items
Perform fixed asset management and reconcile monthly purchases with the Accounts Payable team
Assist with maintenance and organization of accounting files
Special projects and other duties as assigned, including ad-hoc reporting and expense reports
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's (or advanced) degree in accounting
At least two (2) years of professional experience in accounting
Working knowledge of accounting, cash disbursement/banking requirements, and financial statement consolidation
Functional knowledge of accounting and finance software applications and the ability to work and collaborate with technology teams
Strong Excel skills
Strong communication, analytical, organizational, and time management skills
Ability to work in a team environment (as well as independently), prioritize effectively and meet deadlines
This position requires the incumbent to be in the office three days per week
Preferred
Valid U.S. Certified Public Accountant (“CPA”) license (or CPA in progress) is a plus
Experience with Oracle NetSuite a plus
