Responsibilities

Accurately post transactions (payments and adjustments) from Electronic Remittances, paper checks, EOBs, and Patient Portals

Follow the department’s payment reconciliation process with precision

Prioritize tasks to maximize efficiency and turnaround time

Meet or exceed daily productivity and accuracy standards

Maintain error rates in alignment with department expectations

Respond to internal and external calls and emails promptly and professionally

Support administrative tasks and assist team members as needed

Qualification

Medical billing experiencePayment posting experienceEOB interpretationExcel proficiencyCPT coding knowledgeICD-10 coding knowledgeConfidentiality under HIPAACommunication skillsAttention to detailOrganizational skills

Required

2+ years of medical billing or payment posting experience

Strong ability to interpret EOBs and EOPs from major payors

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Highly detail-oriented, reliable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Ability to maintain confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines

Proficiency in basic Excel functions

Familiarity with CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 coding

Knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping processes

High school diploma or equivalent required
